KUT's Get Involved Forums seeks to connect the people of Austin with local issues and the non-profits that serve them through civic engagement and civil discourse. We aim to make information and resources comprehensive and easily accessible to the public via our on-air and digital broadcast, provide volunteer opportunities and inspire action.

Our first Get Involved Forum will focus on Musician's Healthcare in Austin. Check out our online resource page for local musicians and the community searching for information. The page highlights the issue and the organizations providing a variety of healthcare services to local musicians. We've got interviews, multimedia and interactive features as well as volunteer opportunities so that you can get involved.
On October 17th, KUT will host a forum at the Cactus Cafe with a panel of speakers from HAAM (Health Alliance for Austin Musicians) and the SIMS Foundation. The panel will also include local muscians and community members. After a moderated panel discussion, we will have time for audience Q & A. After the Q & A we will have an informal social hour at the Cactus Cafe where the community can connect with the cause and each other. The Cactus Cafe has a cash bar (cards are accepted).
The forum is free and open to the public. We encourage you to attend and find out how you can make a difference and keep Austin the vibrant live music destination it is famous for.
